Community Room (2nd Floor)Would you like to learn to draw monsters? Children's author and illustrator Stan Yan will demonstrate how shapes, letters, numbers, and even words can be used to create scary characters. Ages 6-12.
Children’s author and illustrator Stan Yan will read one of his books and use hands-on gameplay to demonstrate how shapes, letters, numbers, and even words can be used to create scary characters. For ages 6-12. Registration required.
This workshop includes an interactive drawing demo. Stan Yan will take a non-scary suggestion from the participants, to show how staging, lighting, backgrounds, gestures, and expressions are all tools an artist can use to make a harmless scene scary! He will also show how to use simple geometrical shapes to design characters that are simpler to draw again and again for a story.
